It was over 60 degrees in WI today, which is basically a heat wave this time of year. I know it’s Fool’s Spring and we’ll definitely shave at least one more cold snap - and probably snow - but I love that first feeling of spring in the air.

I already have plenty of seeds started! What do you have planted? Or what do you hope to plant this spring?

One of my favorite activities while traveling is to visit botanical gardens, nature preserves, and other native plant spaces to admire the flora and fauna.

I recently went on a family trip to Arizona and my activity request was to visit @dbgphx (Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix). Although I consider myself decently well-traveled, it was my first time to the desert.

We went late in the day so we were able to experience a beautiful cactus-filled sunset while walked through the gardens. It was definitely one of my favorite botanical garden visits.

I’d LOVE to go back during cactus bloom time.

After way too many days of frigid cold, it’s sunny and in the TWENTIES (hey, if you live in the north, you know this is basically a heat wave right now 🤣). Stepping outside and feeling the sunshine on my skin has me daydreaming about summer weather and beautiful blooms.

It truly took me creating this reel to realize how many steps are involved in seed starting 😂 But most of them really are baby steps! I’m a little behind but I spent a needed day off planting our first seeds of the season - poppies, rudbeckia, snapdragons, feverfew, and oregano.
